Residential work makes up a small, but very satisfying portion of the work we undertake. Drawing on skills learned early in our careers we enjoy the personality that each project develops dealing with 'real', private people and their lives which contrasts with the very public and formal work involved  dealing with the rest of our projects.

An early commission for Lightbox, and still a favorite, was a house renovation and extension for a two scientists and their child in Kingsville in Melbourne. After a year in negotiating the necessary approvals, this project was completed to the client's delight. Like all ourprojects we dedicated ourselves to the task completely to ensure that the clients needs have been met and exceeded. This project has allowed the application and testing of skills learned much earlier. The new modern extension is distinct from the elegant yet typical period bungalow.
